  2. Antarctica

I am living a dream. Few things in this life (dream) am I this certain of. I am living a dream and you cannot tell me otherwise. How do I know? Because, what you are about to see is too fantastical a journey to occur in the "real" world. We all dream; we do not understand our dreams, yet we act as if nothing strange goes on in our… Full Story »

  3. The Chuting Gallery-Video

    noahhowell.com &bull Nov 5, 2011

I remember thinking as Andrew Mclean was dryly presenting his steep rock lined descents at an REI slideshow. I was fresh out of the resort and diving into the glorious powder bowls of the Wasatch backcountry. It was exciting enough avoiding avalanches and exploring this new world. But something about the photo's I saw and allure of these mysterious hidden lines struck me. I purchased a copy of the book and found myself thumbing through it fantasizing… Full Story »

  4. Hidden Peak Challenge 2011

    noahhowell.com &bull Sep 21, 2011

Coach Courtney and I warming up on game day. He told me that, "Pain is your legs gift to you and suffering is what you give them in return." I have no idea what that means. I'm slow on foot. I've never been fast. My legs will carry me all day, up and down and all around the mountains at a moderate pace. I'm able to maintain that level of fitness through ski touring in the winter and random acts of activity in the summer.… Full Story »

    noahhowell.com &bull Aug 6, 2011

When Andrew and I made plans for Spitsbergen last spring, the idea was to kite and ski outside of town and see what we could find. This sounded like a great enough trip in itself. Shortly after we had decided… Full Story »

  8. Summer Camp, Idaho

    noahhowell.com &bull Jun 27, 2011

Drew Stoecklein has been hell bent on getting into the distant peaks behind his folks ranch to make some turns. He's gone through hell over the last few years to make that happen. With failed attempts involving everything from donkey's to snowmobiles and more epics than such an objective may warrant, I wasn't that interested in getting tangled up in another debacle (ask him about rabies if you get the chance).… Full Story »

  9. Bad Rock Peak, Id

  10. Norway Part 2- Billefjorden

    noahhowell.com &bull Jun 9, 2011

Off we go by snowscooter with loaded down pulks full of gear. The 4hr ride was pretty cush and the seals, reindeer, fjords and endless peaks kept the "are we there yets" from ever creeping in. Many strange and unique surprises were in store. First off we found a 100ft sailboat in the sea ice. The No0rderlicht… Full Story »
